FAQ Page:

What is Mind Magic?
As an entertainment it is a fast paced presentation that is directed towards an adult audience that combines demonstrations of psychological and subliminal suggestion, reading body language, mind games, memory and perceptual manipulation.

Does Mind Magic embarrass anyone?
Only myself should I be wrong! But as for my audience they are treated with the highest respect and dignity. There would be no performance without my audience and everyone’s private thoughts remain their own.

What makes Franklin’s performance any more special or different than other entertainers?
The truth is no amount of words will influence someone who has never seen Franklin’s mind altering experience, as the saying goes ‘seeing is believing’.

How do you become a Mind Magician?
Many books can and have been written on developing the potential of the human mind. The first step is to focus your mind on the goals you want to achieve. Once you have firmly established what you want to succeed in, your conscious and sub-conscious will start working together to find the solution. Also having practised hypnotism and meditation for a number of years I have developed a state of mind where I can instantly relax, not allowing myself to get stressed, it also helps to have total self belief in my abilities and what I am capable of.

Have you ever been mistaken?
According to my children: Never.
According to my wife: Always.
In performance: Hopefully I don’t leave anything to chance, but there is always a first time.

Can you actually read minds?
Personally, I believe it's impossible to read minds - there's just too much going on in there... memories, hopes, ambitions, and the million things that go to keep us alive. However, I combine intuition, empathy and body language to momentarily capture a single thought, or thought process, and then reveal it. In other words, it's thought-reading and thought provoking... and remarkably entertaining!

What size of audience can you perform to?
However large or few in number, I have entertained as few as 10 and as many as 500.

How much room do you need?
The size of the room is usually determined by the size of the audience. Having entertained in venues of various sizes I am able to go with the flow and fit in, although it is always appreciated to have a little more room than to have to the audience invading onto the performance area.

How long does the show usually last?
A cabaret performance is on average 30 to 45 minutes, whilst a full stage show lasts a full hour and a half with a 20 minute interval. All shows can be modified to suit clients needs.

How far are you prepared to travel to perform?
Distance is no object.

What do you wish to accomplish?
My goal is to leave an audience feeling totally entertained and mystified with a realisation we all have an incredible capacity to accomplish whatever human endeavour we desire.

What are the technical requirements?
Franklin cabaret performance can be presented in virtually any setting. However, for maximum audience impact the following key points are suggested:

  • Less than 50 people – the floor is fine with the audience in front.
  • An audience of 50 – 200 people – minimum 12’ X 18’ stage area with the audience always directly in front.
  • Over 200 people – the size of the audience will determine the size of the stage, and how high the stage (riser) should be from the floor.
  • Lighting is most important for any performance to take place.
  • Sound amplification with a CD player.
  • One lapel/lavaliere wireless microphone.
  • One wireless microphone in a stand.
  • Six chairs.
  • A secure room to get changed in and set up for the performance.

Does Franklin have his own sound equipment?
This depends on the size of the venue – for a standard size cabaret for approximately up to 200 people Franklin has his own sound system.
For a larger size venue, higher powered amplification would be necessary.
